## How to Send Money

Sending money takes about 30 seconds. Here's how.

1
### Open a Conversation
Go to [Messages](/content/messaging/index.html) and open the conversation with the person you want to send money to. This can be any conversation — from a bounty, a service booking, or a direct message.

2
### Click "Send Money"
In the Details panel on the right side of the conversation, click the 💸 Send Money button.
On mobile, tap the "Details" icon in the top-right of the conversation to open the panel.

3
### Enter Amount & Pay
Enter the dollar amount you want to send (between $1 and $10,000) and click Send. You'll be redirected to Stripe's secure checkout page.

#### Accepted payment methods
Credit card, debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and more — whatever Stripe supports in your country.

#### Fees
No platform fee. 100% of the amount you send goes to the recipient. Standard Stripe processing fees apply.

4
### Done!
After payment, you're redirected back to the conversation. A system message appears in the chat confirming the transfer:

System:💸 Alex sent $25.00
Both you and the recipient see the message and can view transfer history in the Details panel.

## Receiving Money

Anyone can receive money — even if they haven't set up a bank account yet.

### If you have a bank account linked
Funds are transferred to your bank account automatically via Stripe. You'll typically see the money in your account within 2-3 business days, depending on your bank.

### If you haven't linked a bank account yet
No problem — the money is held securely on the platform until you're ready to withdraw. Your balance accumulates and you can withdraw everything at once.

1
#### Set up payouts
Go to your [Dashboard → Payouts](/content/account/payments/index.html) and click "Set up payouts". You'll be taken to Stripe to enter your bank details. This only takes a minute.

2
#### Withdraw your balance
Once your bank is linked, go to [Dashboard → Payouts](/content/account/payments/index.html) and click "Withdraw". All held funds (from transfers and escrows) are sent to your bank in one batch.

### Checking Your Balance
View your current balance (both held transfers and escrow earnings) on your [Dashboard → Payouts](/content/account/payments/index.html) tab. Your balance includes:

- **Available**
Funds ready to withdraw (from completed transfers and released escrows)
- **On Hold**
Escrow funds still in the 4-day review window (not yet available)

## FAQ

### How much can I send?
Between $1 and $10,000 per transfer. There's no limit on the number of transfers you can send.

### Are there any fees?
No platform fee — 100% of what you send goes to the recipient. Standard Stripe payment processing fees (around 2.9% + 30¢) are charged on top of your amount at checkout.

### Can both sides send money?
Yes! Either person in the conversation can send money to the other. The direction is automatic based on who clicks "Send Money."

### What if I send money to someone without a bank account?
The funds are held securely on the platform. The recipient can withdraw once they link a bank account via Dashboard → Payouts. There's no expiration — funds are held until withdrawn.

### Can I get a refund?
Send Money transfers are instant and non-reversible. If you sent money by mistake, contact the recipient directly through the conversation to arrange a return transfer.

### Is this different from escrow?
Yes. Escrow holds funds until both parties confirm task completion, with dispute resolution and a review window. Send Money is instant — once you pay, the recipient gets the funds. Use escrow for larger tasks where you need payment protection.

### Can I send money from a bounty conversation?
Yes. Send Money works in any conversation — bounty chats, service booking chats, or direct messages. It's independent of the bounty/escrow system.

### Where can I see my transfer history?
Open any conversation and click "Details" (right panel). Your recent transfers for that conversation are shown below the Send Money button.

## Ready to send money?
